Standing at the height of six-foot-seven-inches, Ryan Wilson is the one of the newest members of the OHS staff. Wilson is now the high school’s third athletic director in the last three years, after the departure of Chris Bullock. He will also be filling the position of PE teacher and Health teacher following Cindy Elliott’s retirement.

Wilson recently moved to Orcas from Pasadena, California with his wife Rachel Wilson and their three-year-old daughter named Daisy. Back in his home in California, Wilson also taught, making this his eleventh year of teaching. Wilson said that one of the main reasons for his family moving here was that Orcas Island is “the ideal place to work and raise a family.” Wilson has also said that he and his family enjoy living on the island so far. His daughter Daisy especially likes the island due to her love of the local deer.

On a school day, Wilson can be found in his office, in the gym, or in the Health classroom. The Orcas Island School District is very grateful to have Wilson as part of the school staff and would like to officially welcome him to the school.
