Oh, the places you’ll go! Our seniors’ plans after graduating
After I finish High School here, I am going to be attending college. I am currently deciding between Western Washington University and Texas A&M University in Galveston. Studying after high school has been a pretty big deal in my family, so going to college after my high school years seemed like a pretty easy choice for me. I am very excited to start this whole new chapter in my life, and I am sure that everyone in my class will be successful in their own ways.
I’m going to Western Washington University next fall where I was accepted into an exclusive honors scholars program meant to develop leadership skills. I hope to incorporate my music into my studies. I also want to focus my studies on helping people, although I haven’t decided on how yet.
I’ll be going to college at Seattle Pacific University. I want to study abroad and be an anthropologist. I can’t wait to go to college and expand my horizons.
My plan is to take a gap year and work. During that year I’m also planning on going to Alaska through the inside passage with my dad on his boat and also planning on going to Europe with Kyle Zbornik.
I plan on getting my Culinary Business Management degree from Skagit Valley College because someday I really want to have my own cafe or bakery. Cooking is my passion. I also eventually want to live either in La Conner or Friday Harbor since they’re both close to home.
I’ll be leaving the island for Whitman College next year. I can’t wait to see new sights, meet new people, and have all the experiences college has to offer. I have time to choose my major because at Whitman we don’t declare until Junior year, so I plan on expanding my horizons.
I am going to attend Santa Barbara City College to study liberal arts because it will give me a wider range of options than most majors because I am not really sure what I want to do. I’m passionate about so many different things. I want to explore my options before deciding on a career. What I want most right now is to be happy with the people I love and wear sundresses every day. That’s all a person needs!
I plan on majoring in Exercise and Sports Science at Oregon State University!
I plan on attending Washington State University in the fall. I want to major in History with a minor in Spanish Language and can’t wait to enjoy college life to the fullest. After school I want to join the military and serve my country.
I have won a scholarship that allows me to go to Whatcom community college to get my GE so I can get my degree in Mechanical Engineering so that I can build prosthetics for veterans.
No comment available. Taj is attending Whitman.
I’m going to St. Olaf College in Minnesota on a full academic scholarship, I will be playing on the college football team, hopefully as a tight end, or long snapper. I might be majoring in Mechanical Engineering and I’m excited to represent Orcas with hard work and excellence.
Next year I’ll be attending California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in Math and Science majoring in Biology with a concentration in Anatomy with a path to Premed!
Gap year. I’m traveling to Ireland to work and stay for as long as I can, hoping to marry an attractive Irishman with a farm and a dog.
I’m off to Lewis and Clark College in Portland next year. I chose it because I’m a Generation Y’er, and therefore have been indoctrinated from day 1 that college is the way to go. Also I’ve uncovered a lot of unsuspected passions these last few years. I want to further explore them in a relatively unstructured environment with tons of resources. I’m going to support myself and pay the non-scholarships tuition with my long-term programming job at an on-island web company, Smalldog Net Solutions. It’s gonna be awesome.
I will be attending Washington State University next fall. I can’t wait for college life and fresh faces and surroundings, although I will miss everyone here.
No comment available. Emily is taking a gap year.
I will be attending Central Washington University with a planned major in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Spanish, tentatively.
I’m taking a gap year. I’m leaving my options open for the future, but I do know that I want to continue with my passion for dance after high school.
No comment available. Braeden is attending Saint Olaf.
I’m going to UW! I’m planning on doing a double major in International Studies: Japan and Japanese language. Or possibly just minoring in Japanese. I’m going to play intramural volleyball of course, and I can’t wait to explore Seattle! The UW has been my dream college since middle school, and getting in was a dream come true. I hope to move to Japan soon after graduating college.
After graduating I plan on taking a gap year focusing on work experience, traveling, and general self improvement before I head to Western Washington University in the fall.
I’m attending Cornish College of the Arts fall 2015 and planning to major in Design. I chose this school because I’ll be around like minded people who love the arts. I’m excited to collaborate with different artists and meet creative people that share the same passions as I do!
I will be attending the University of Montana. I am really excited to study out of state. I plan on studying health sciences and playing on the intramural volleyball as well as working as a tutor to help other students.
I plan on attending Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota.
