Viking Basketball Starts Strong

VikingHeadOn December 5, the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both played their first home games of the season, each facing Bush Academy. The first home game can be exciting and stressful for the players as there is always a large crowd in attendance. However, the home crowd was not disappointed, as both teams kicked off their seasons with a bang.

The Lady Vikings started the game off strong, scoring the first basket. They kept the lead with a strong defense, and by the end of the first half they were up 24-9. Bush Academy did not let up and played hard throughout the game. However, the Vikings’ strong performance continued in the second half leading to a 47-24 victory.

The boys basketball team started off their season playing tough. Matched against Bush Academy, they fought to score. By the end of the first half, the Vikings were down by 5, with a score of 30-25. Both teams were determined to win, as it was a challenging game until the finish. All battles must come to a conclusion however, and in the end the Vikings lost, 55-41.

This is just the beginning for both teams and there will be many more opportunities to catch a home game and see them in action.
