Fauntleroy’s Forum: Running Start

Dear Fauntleroy,

I am a sophomore and have heard a lot about something called Running Start. As far as I know it is a program through which I can take college classes early. To be absolutely honest I do not know anything else about it. I am clueless and uneducated on the matter. So, if you would not mind, could you enlighten me?

Sincerely, A Clueless Student,

Dear Clueless Student,

I understand that what I am about to tell you might be hard to believe, but I assure you it is 100% true. I, Fauntleroy, a cat, have not only attended high school, but also college. Therefore I am quite educated in the matters of education, and I can say with absolute certainty that Running Start is a good idea. At the very base of it Running Start is just taking college classes while you are in high school for a fraction of the price, or even free. To be honest it is a steal. On top of that you will be earning credits for both high school and college (not all colleges will accept credits earned through Running Start) much faster than you would normally. You will usually earn one high school credit and five college credits per class that you take, and each class only lasts about a high school quarter and a half; instead of a semester. Like I said, It is a steal, in regards to both money and time.

Sincerely, Fauntleroy
