Farmer’s Market

The village green is a multi-functional space. Be it for a concert or a parade, we’ve all been there once. Maybe you just showed up because that’s what happened, but for half the year it’s used for one recurring event. Can you guess what I mean? It’s the farmer’s market. Every Saturday in the summer it just pops up for a few hours then disappears as quickly as it came; a lot like a unicorn. So, what should you expect from this mythical beast? A ton of really yummy food. There were more stalls selling baked goods and hot food than there were selling vegetables or something like that. From pupusas to snickerdoodles, every bite is handmade, high quality, and absolutely delicious. Contrary to the name, it isn’t just food at the market. There were also plenty of places selling jewelry and a few places selling pottery. Our market may be small, but it’s just as good as any other, and being on the green helps. The playground and the tree are fantastic places for kids to play and the stage lets us have music in the market. Can we talk about music in the market real quick? How is every band that comes up so good at setting the mood? They all have the perfect songs to pull everything together– It’s actually suspicious that they all seem to know exactly what to do. Maybe it’s just a mark of skill.

While we were there on the 17th of may, we noticed one crucial thing: There were a lot of dogs. Seriously, we counted 27, including 2 of our own. It’s great to see so many good dogs in one place. For those who don’t know, an abundance of dogs is a clear sign of a good time. Dogs know a fun place when they see it. My little sister even held her own personal dog show, then immediately proclaimed our pug as the winner. Seems a little biased… If you’re looking for a good time, good food, or just some dogs to pet, check out the farmers market since they seem to have it all.
